I was recently sent a ton of Board Games to review for Reviewing Toys and I can’t wait to share each game with you. Course I need to wait so each child can play with me to do a fair review of each one. Here’s the list of selected games:

From Zobmondo!! Entertainment:

-  The Ladybug Game
-  Would You Rather…?
-  You Gotta Be Kidding!

From Out of the Box Games:

-  Backseat Drawing Junior
-  Ninja VS. Ninja

From Hasbro:

-  Stratego
-  Battleship: The Tactical Combat Game
-  Clue: Harry Potter Style
-  Sorry: Spongebob Squarepants
-  Connect 4
-  Crazy Old Fish War card game
-  Scramble Card Game

Classic Board Games on Wii

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Remember sitting at the dinner table at night playing games like Sorry, Monopoly or even Connect Four? Well now you can play them on the Wii. Yep they’ve brought back all the old classic board games but made them available on the big screen.

Which games are on the Wii?

-  Connect Four

-  Boggle

-  Yahtzee

-  Battleship

-  Sorry

-  Sorry Sliders (this is newer)

By the sounds of it there are two games that just aren’t as good on the Wii as they are on the board, those are Sorry and Battleship. On Battleship you must zoom in to get the exact grid location you want to ask. Sorry doesn’t allow you to view the board and makes it harder to play.

On the Connect Four, the Mr.Potato Head helps you put the pieces in the slot. Very cute, makes you think of Toy Story.

You to the Rescue Game

You to the Rescue game

Your child can be a hero in theHorton Hears a Who! - You to the Rescue!. With the soon-to-be new release “Horton Hears a Who” dvd, you are sure to hear everyone shouting they’d like something with “Horton” in it. If you’ve got a little guy between the ages of 4-8 this is a great item. Not only will it strengthen their confidence but it helps with counting, learning their colors, taking turns and many other things.

Monopoly Town

There’s a new toy in town and it is just perfect for those little ones, it’s called Monopoly. No, not the adult version of the game, or even the themed Monopoly, now there is a Monopoly Town that allows the younger children to play along.

Review: The Littlest Pet Shop Game

Thursday, September 27th, 2007
Littlest Pet Shop Game

My 4-year-old got the “Hasbro Littlest Pet Shop Game” for her birthday this past year and she just LOVES it. It’s simple enough that they are able to play and quick enough that the older siblings are willing to play a game or two with her.

The game comes with:
4 Littlest Pet Shop pets (Puppy, Bunny, Turtle and Kitty)
The Gameboard
Tokens
Spinner
Instructions (of course)

Basically each player gets a pet and spin the wheel. As they spin they are collecting tokens, they want all four of their pets tokens before they reach the finish line. If they reach it before they have their tokens they continue on until they have all four. Easy to understand and will definitely put a smile on your little ones face.

I asked her what she thought of it, “It is cool because I love it, my aunt got it for me. You turn the spinner and go. I like the bunny.”

Age recommendation is 4+ but not too far over as they (older children) tend to get bored very quickly.
