Recall Alert: Step2Play Up Gym Play Sets

Monday, June 1st, 2009

swingrecall

The swingset, “Step2Play Up Gym play set” has been recalled. For those that aren’t sure this is the swing that costs around $400 over at Toys “R” Us. the reason is because the  chain on the swing can break and hurt your child.

They’ve stated there have been no injuries as of yet but would like to prevent them, if you have one of these swings (comes with a platform, slide, two swings and a climber) come in to get the replacement swingers. There were around 4,300 swingsets sold.

The model number is 797300.

Flip Flop Recall

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

09137c

Another item has been recalled this week and this time it isn’t really a toy, but something kids will probably have in their closet…. flip flops. This is a voluntary recall, so it is more of a warning to those that have them.

The flip flops are geared towards children and made by Alpargatas USA Inc, of New York, NY. There were around 210,000 made.

Why the recall? Lead paint is on the flip flops where the designs are. No child has chocked on them or reportedly ate the shoes but they are trying to be safe. There are more designs, including floral, clowns, ets. Check out the pic to see if you have some in your closet.

Toy Recall: Nerf N-Strike Recon Blasters

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

nerf

Another toy recall, this one is for a Nerf Recon Blaster, I’m sure some of you have this one at home. But it seems the plunger in the back can hurt a child. There have been 46 injuries of children since the release of this gun.  The gun sales for around $20 at most of your discount stores that sell toys and sold between November 2007-2008.

This recall involves the Nerf N-Strike Recon CS-6 Blasters for children age 6 and up. The toy blaster is yellow with a black handle and orange plunger, trigger, and reload clip. The word “NERF” in black lettering is on both sides of the blaster and the word “ARMED” is indented on the orange plunger. “RECON CS-6” is on the gray cocking mechanism. There are five interchangeable parts including the shoulder stock, the flip-up sight, barrel extension, quick re-load clip and dual-mode light beam. Model number 63552 and UPC codes 653569272021 and 653569311218 can be found on the packaging. Only blasters with an exposed orange plunger are included in this recall.

For more information, contact Hasbro toll-free at (800) 245-0910 anytime or visit the firm’s Web site at www.hasbro.com/nerf

Hopefully if you have this gun you aren’t one that’s had to call to report an issue.

Recall Alert

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Here are three toy recalls that you may want to check out in order to keep your children safe this year. Not to worry I’ll continue to toss out those toy recalls.

    An Easter Toy Recall:

Camouflage Easter Egg Treat Containers
Easter Spinning Egg Tops

hobbylobbyrecallsm.jpg
13,000 camouflage toy egg spinners were recalled when someone realized they contained lead paint on the outside of the eggs. These are from the Hobby Lobby and made in China, if you purchased one for your child this easter you may want to toss them or go to get a replacement.

    Baby toy recall:

Rock N’Ride Plush
Tek Nek Toys International L.P. has sold over 1200 of these cute little rock n’ride pony plush items, but the only problem is they have an unsteady base. There have actually been 35 claims of a child falling off, bumping their head or getting cut by the pony. These ponies are the ones that if you push on their ear they play a song or neigh. If you have one of these ponies go to www.teknektoys.com and email them for your free replacement base.

Recalls & Toys-R-Us

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Toys-R-Us has made this statement in regards to all the recalls:

We believe that when a product is recalled, the most important thing is to get that product out of children’s hands. To that end, we have instituted a “no quibble” policy when it comes to toy recalls. This means Toys”R”Us will take back recalled product whether it was purchased at Toys”R”Us or not - with or without a receipt.

We see ToysRUs is behind their consumers and wanting to make this holiday season a safe one for children. What about the rest? As I find more messages I will post them here. Remember folks, if your child gets a recalled product you can exchange it this holiday season. Even if you don’t have a receipt.

Thank you ToysRus!

Recalls from Spinmaster Toys

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

After last week’s recall of the AquaDots I heard there was another toy recalled from Spinmaster toys so I wanted to make sure it was one I didn’t have. Not to worry, I didn’t, but I thought ya’ll might or could end up with it on your child’s holiday wish list. So here is a quick list of their recalled products.

Aqua Dots Recall

Aqua Dots- Remember last week some children swallowed beads and the doctors discovered that the beads had a chemical that makes date rape drugs in them. Quickly these dots were being removed from consumer’s hands, those that were out there were asked to take them to get replacement beads or get a toy of equal value.

Aqua Dots Recall: You Don’t Want to Miss it

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

Aqua Dots RecallIt seems that every week there is a new toy being ripped off the shelf because of another toy recall. Just in time for the holidays? Are there any toys out there that are safe these days?

Shocking news to consumers as this time it’s a toy company that doesn’t have lead, instead it can be much more fatal. This time it’s a toy that consists of a drug…a date rape drug called gamma hydroxy butyrate. The beads in this toy are what is so harmful.
