Mom’s Toy Rental Service
A Texas Mom to twins thought of a really neat toy service. Before I get into that though I want to ask you a few questions and really think of the answer.
Does your child have a lot of toys?
Do they become uninterested in them after a period of time?
Do they still look new?
What do you do with your child’s old toys?
Every year parents are stuck with going through their children’s toys, either during the spring or later in the year near the holiday season. Why? Parents like to take out broken toys or make room for more toys. I’m a crime of this myself, however I have four children and tend to hand down toys to the younger ones. Thankfully the toys are never torn up, if they are they are headed for the giant green bin outside.
Lori Pope, Houston mother to twins, had the same issue and instead of just tossing toys that looked brand new she decided to make a business out of them. Baby Plays was launched this past October and in most ways it is like Netflix or Blockbuster. You get to pick 4-5 toys for the month and send them back.
Does this sound interesting to you? I know it got my eyes and ears perked to read this. I mean I won’t have to go shopping or wait for huge sales before testing out a product. Heck, if I test it and don’t like it I’ll know not to buy it. Or I can test it and discover my family is happier with it and purchase the item. There is a monthly service charge of $28.99 to get 4 toys for three months. That’s right, three months not just a few weeks. This is normally the expansion pan of your child’s interest in a toy anyways. Want to save a bit more? Sign up for a year contract and get 6 toys a month for $31.99. If you don’t want a contract you can pay $35.99 a month to get 6 toys for three months.

Each toy is wiped down with Clorox wipes and added new batteries into the toy before it is shipped off. So no fear of germs and you don’t have to go out and buy batteries. That in itself would be a reason to buy it.
