The Golden Girls Dolls

by

goldengirlsdolls

They’ve got a doll for everything don’t they, not to mention of every show that ever comes out. But this group of dolls aren’t exactly something to frown upon, these won’t inspire your little girl to wear too much make up or some shameful clothes.

For those of you that think you remember them but need a bit more of a push this was a group of older women that all lived together. A mother and daughter, a widow and a single woman. But somehow they all managed to live together for years without strangling one another.

The Golden Girls was constantly watched in my house, I don’t think there was an episode we ever missed. Here’s the theme song for those trying to remember:

"Thank You for Being a Friend," by Andrew Gold, sung by Cynthia Fee

Thank you for being a friend,
Travel down the road and back again,
Your heart is true,
You’re a pal and a confidant!
And if you threw a party,
Invited everyone you knew!
You would see,
The biggest gift would be from me,
And the card attached would say,
Thank you for being a friend!

Now you won’t be able to get these adorable ladies because they’ve already been bought but you can still catch Rose, Dorothy, Blanche and Sophia from time to time on TV. If not you can always find them on youtube.

Review: Elmo Up Up!

by

elmoupup

Elmo has always been loved in our family but I think Little A is the biggest fan. Anytime we go down an aisle or flip through a channel that has him he goes nuts screaming "MoMo." Hey, he’s still 1 but he knows what he loves. One day I was walking through Wal-mart and saw this little guy and pushed his tummy, immediately he came to life and my son did NOT want to leave the aisle. A few days later I ordered him through amazon, at the time he was on sale for a little less than $10, currently he’s $42.99 and since it passes a certain amount he is free shipping and handling.

Elmo is soft and loves to cuddle, when you push his tummy he says a bunch of various phrases. His arms move, hands wiggles and feet kick.

Elmo’s phrases are:

Hi, Hi and he giggles and laughs. Elmo up please.

Elmo up-up, Elmo up-up.

Thank you.

Hurray.

Elmo sings: Elmo loves to go up up, up up. Elmo. Thanks for picking Elmo up. Hug Elmo Today.

Bye-Bye

Elmo loves hugs. Elmo loves you.

Elmo Down…please. Thank you.

Burst Pipes Destroy Toy Drive

by

Fire fighters are always busy putting out the fires and trying to save people, but no one could come to their rescue when the basement of St.Mary Parish Community Building had a pipe burst. Most are thinking okay whatever, get everything out and air it out. Problem was this is where they were keeping all the toys for the annual toy drive.

All toys were destroyed from the water leaking on them and now they must work even harder to get new toys. 8,000 toys were destroyed in the flood. Send packages to: Dover fire stations, City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce.

Black Canary Barbie Doll hits Collector’s Wishlist

by

blackcanarybarbie

Black Canary Barbie Doll is hitting the tops of every Collector’s Wish list this holiday season and I can see why. She’s not just any Barbie, but DC Comics Super Heroine Black Canary made into Barbie. While she does have the luscious long blonde hair flowing down her back, she’s went from pinks to dark make up. She tossed off those sandals and strapped on a pair of black boots. Throwing her dress back in the closet she has added a black leather jacket and body suit with fishnet stockings. This is not just any Barbie but the BAD Barbie. Will she be on your list this year?

This Barbie doll runs between $35-$40.00

Fisher-Price’s Top Toys for Christmas

by

Fisher-Price has listed their top toys for Christmas and I must say all the little babies would be happy with these picks.

Fisher-Price Go Baby Go Crawl and Cruise Musical Jungle -  This is one of the most active little toys I’ve seen for a baby at this age. The monkey spins and when you place the ball in its hands it dumps them in the ramp. Stick the balls in the elephants ears and watch it shoot out his nose, this is sure to get laughs. Fill the hippos mouth with the balls and play peek a boo. Watch the balls run through the forest down the little curves it has.

Go Baby Go!  Bounce & Spin Zebra-  You’ve seen it on the commercials now your baby can hop on his/her zebra and play along it spins and bounces. Let them have a ball in your living room without having to go to the park.

Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Shop and Learn Walker -  This shopping cart not only makes your baby laugh and play but will get him to get up and go. The cart has wide legs so your baby won’t be taking a tumble if he/she gets off-balance.  There are tiny food items that he can put in the cart, four different shapes to sort and each one gets a great response. Why not get something they can learn and be proud of and begin walking. 5 stars

Little People Learn about Town-  Help your child learn their ABCs, numbers and what everyone’s profession is in town. Where does the dentist go? Inside the drugstore or a tooth office, etc. They’ll get the town, two people figures and the pizza for the restaurant, table, chairs, easel, tricycle and a few other little toys.

Loving Family Grand Dollhouse-  This dollhouse is perfect for all little girls and it is great for traveling since you can close it right up and the outside latches shut.  There are 8 rooms and the two sides open up to show all the rooms. You’ll get the house, mom, dad, baby boy and baby girl with two carseats and many other accessories.   4 1/2 stars

Fisher-Price Fun-2-Learn Computer Cool School -  Teach them their ABCs and how to play online from the comfort of your own home. No more worrying about what the school is allowing them to do. The keyboard latches right over your own keyboard and you simply plug it into your USB port. They can choose from reading, math, art, science, music and writing.  Get your kids having fun an educational way.   4 1/2 stars

Imaginext DC Super Friends BatCave- It’s Batman’s secret hideout made out of legos. Now you can protect Gotham by capturing the bad guys and looking out from the top of the cave. This actually won their 5 star rating.

Little Tykes - Big Rocker Drum Set

Acoustic Guitar

Rapala - Fishing frenzy PS3

All the kids in my house would love Guitar Hero, my 5 year old would love the Cottage, 8 year old the jewelry box and my 1 year old would get a kick out of the drum set. The 11 year old is big into any video games. It would’ve been nice to win. Maybe next time. Have you won anything yet?

Barbie Wins Battle with Bratz

by

Seems like the older gal has won in the battle of dolls. Barbie and Bratz went head-to-head in court but Barbie won out in the end. The Bratz will be dropping from the shelves here shortly, my guess is sometime after the holidays as I’m still seeing them there.

Ten years ago, Bratz hit the shelves (wow has it been that long?) and Barbie got jealous. Instead of hitting back they made another Barbie-like doll to compete, but she fell flat on her face (FLAVAS) but it would be an article revealing they (Bratz) were by someone that worked with Mattel. This was NOT allowed to happen, Mattel (aka Barbie) went after Bratz.

So what does all this mean? For starters I heard Christina Aguilera will be replacing the old Barbie Doll with a replica of herself (or likeness of) so I guess she won’t be in competition with those Bratz models. Barbie won’t have to compete against the dolls that have the cool fashion items or the tons of lipstick.

Course this means if Bratz leaves the shelves they’ll become collectors items.
