Water balloons are small potatos….

by

It’s hot here. Hot as in “Bea is living in her diaper, I’m drinking my weight in water and trying to stay cool by lying very still or hiding in the shade” kind of hot. Neither of which are very fun for a little baby. I went to my mother and baby group today and was jealous of the litthe three year olds who got to play with buckets of water their mothers ended up putting out. With no pool to play with, it’s the next best thing. They kept shouting that we should get the ‘piscine’ (french for pool) out. As if we had one hidden in the garage that we weren’t telling them about.

Did you ever set up a Slip ‘n Slide in the back yard? We used to have one and every summer it would get dragged out and someone would end up sliding over a pebble of something and hurting themselves or else you slip (or slide?) too far and end up getting grass stains. But it was great. So, a quick search for Slip ‘n Slide reveals to me that alot has happened in Slip ‘n Slide development since I was a kid…I can’t believe this is now something I’m even vaguely interested in…

Anyway, check this out!:

Seriously? This is a water feature for your front lawn, not a toy.

And then I found this which I think needs to be on my shopping list even though Bea will only be able to appreciate how unbelievably fun it is for about 3 years:

Maybe I can pretend I need it to water the plants….
